SELECT A
GENERATOR TO SUIT YOUR NEEDS Generator Types
1. Recreational Generators
Recreational generators (1,000-3,000 watts) are
purposely designed to be portable. They pack enough
power to get a few appliances operating, and they are
perfect for camping, tailgating or small projects.
2. Emergency Generators
A power outage is no picnic. We recommend getting an
emergency generator (4,000-10,000 watts) if you want
an inexpensive portable generator to backup your
house.
3. Job Site Generators
If you're a contractor using your generator on a daily
basis, you'll need a professional grade generator
(1,000-10,000 watts) designed to withstand the rigors
of jobsite stress.
4. Standby Generators
Standby generators (7-40 Kilowatts) are permanently
installed outside your home or business and
automatically start whether you're there or not. They
can run for extended periods on lp or natural gas.

Standby Power vs. Portable Power
Just a few years ago, the thought of owning an
emergency standby generator seemed unnecessary. Now,
living without electricity is all too "painful".
Many homeowners simply cannot afford to ride out
another power outage. Instead, they are installing
home standby generators in record numbers to protect
their families and assets.
The concept is really simple. Standby generators are
permanently installed outside and can be operated
manually or automatically.
The systems can be connected to your natural gas line,
liquid propane tank or diesel fuel tank and will
generate electricity as long as fuel is supplied.
Automatic Transfer Switches - (optional)
Standby generators can be fitted with an ATS (
Automatic Transfer Switch) to monitor your utility
power.
When your power goes out, the automatic transfer
switch turns on the generator - whether you're home or
not - and automatically shuts it off when power is
restored.
Unlike portable generators, standby generators can operate
automatically with no human intervention. No
generators to move. No power cords to connect. No gas
tanks to fill.
Commercial Power
We’ll never forget 9/11. But, do you remember 9/12
and 9/13?
Remember the eerie feeling of looking into bright
blue skies and not seeing a single airplane?
The terrorists didn’t just bring down a few
passenger planes. They bankrupted the airline
industry.
Now, imagine if your cash register, refrigeration
or computers stopped working for two days or even
a week because of a prolonged power outage.
Bankruptcy may be extreme, but 48 + hours can mean
the difference between a profitable or crippled
business.

Aside from your electric bill, your operating expenses
don’t stop because your meter stopped. Your employees
still expect their paychecks. Your bankers/landlord still
demand their monthly payments.
In the past, it was probably more cost effective to
simply weather the power outage. Back then, standby
generators weren't cheap.
Now, businesses are extremely reliant on electricity,
and standby generators are more affordable than ever
before. They can often pay for themselves in just a
single power outage.
